DWarrior Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: NYC Posts: 4,046	How does a spider know where to make a web? My apartment building has a glass door, so at night all the moths and bugs fly around the door. Last week, a spider built a web on the bottom of the doorhandle and seems to be living large. This got me thinking, how does a spider decide where to put up its hunting web? Does it just pick a random spot and hope to get food, or does it have some way to identify better spots?
