I'm Getting Married!! Any Advice?
My boyfriend proposed to me last week and now I've started the planning process. It seems quite daunting and I'll take any advice or suggestions I can get. I'm completely lost on the little things like favors, the music, what to ask of my bridesmaids and everything else I haven't thought of. Any advice?
BTW, here's the ring. He did good. Photo 4.jpg |

Small guest list: The per head count gets you.
Prioritize: What's important to you? Photography? Dress? Honeymoon? Spend your money there, DIY or cheap out on the rest. (I would suggest putting the bulk of it towards photography--the day is such a blur, you'll want the memories documented) Hire a coordinator for the big day: Your wedding day should be about your prep, not getting the whole show rolling. Consider eloping: I did the wedding thing, God forbid I have need to, but I would never ever ever ever do it again. It's so damn stressful and expensive for it to just be a day. |

I've planned a few wedding in my time and my biggest advice is to have as small of a guest list as possible.
If you do not know an individual personally (like let's say your mother's co-worker), do not invite them. Don't let anyone bully or guilt you into something you do not want to do. Make the best of your MOH and bridesmaids as they are there to be more than just pretty wall flowers. Ask their help with most of the DIY things if you plan on any of it but don't ask too much of a financial contribution from them. Keep their dress cost low!!! Best of luck!
