Keith's 35 Top 5 Comedy Albums
Has anyone compiled a list of all the comedy albums Keith says are in his top 5 of all time or has he posted it anywhere before? I've got a bunch of albums myself but am looking to check out some more.

Top 4 in order and the rest is what I've got in itunes or on dvd:
Bill Hicks Henry Rollins Jim Gaffigan Louis Ck Arj Barker Billy Connolly Brian Regan Chris Rock Dave Chapelle Demetri Martin Dylan Moran Marc Maron Mitch Hedburg Pat Dixon Rich Hall Ricky Gervais Todd Glass Wil Anderson I've listened to a lot more then this but have deleted anything that I didn't find funny. I found a torrent that has 180 "Comedy Central Presents" specials and am working my way through that but bad comedy is so painful that its proving difficult to stay motivated. |

I have to agree with you about about Bill Hicks's brilliance but Henry Rollins at number 2?
I watched a few Rollins clips Spooky posted a few years ago but but he never really grabbed me as a funny guy, he's more a philosopher or talkback radio guy. and I've never heard of Brian Regan, I might check his stuff out later today. What do you think of Joe Rogan and Doug Benson's work? |

Joe Rogan I tried once and turned it off quickly. Don't remember what put me off.
I've been meaning to check out Doug Benson. Is his "Super High Me" worth seeing? Rollins is generally regarded as a story teller and I put him on the list to see what reaction I'd get for calling him a comedian. He'll make you laugh, he'll make you think. He has a lot of cds and most of them are hilarious. Start with "Think Tank" as that's one of the funniest but I would also recommend: Human Butt (1992) The Boxed Life (1993) Think Tank (1998) Eric the Pilot (1999) Live at the Westbeth Theater (2001) Talk Is Cheap: Volume 1 (2003) Talk Is Cheap: Volume 2 (2003) Talk Is Cheap: Volume 3 (2004) Talk Is Cheap: Volume 4 (2004) He has some good dvds too. The bonus footage on Luna Park where he talks about Iggy Pop for 20 minutes is straight up awesome stand-up. |
