Anyone else in Queensland, with the possibility of being flooded tomorrow? Pretty scary stuff.

but on the other hand, this is adorable:

It's kind of terrifying. You don't think these things will happen to your city. This afternoon the Brisbane River bank burst and flooded one of the main streets of the city. Most of my friends who work in the city were evacuated earlier in the morning.

I'm really lucky in a suburb that has not much chance at all of flooding. But I have quite a few friends who are preparing their houses for the next few days and family who have already packed up all their stuff and don't know what has become of their homes.

I was going to go to Emerald and volunteer but then the floods hit Brisbane, so I thought I had better stay. All my love to anyone up north - especially Emerald or Rockhampton.

I live just near Carindale - I'm not worried about my house at all. But I've got friends and family in Morningside, Coorparoo and Bulimba that I'm stressing a little about.

I picked a friend up from East Brisbane today and we walked down to a ferry stop that was completely under. They're saying it's going to be worse than the '74 floods!!

Where are you ragingindie? Hope you're all safe!

Left West End In Brisbane this morning for Cairns. Rain was heavy and the locals were worried. 2 hour hold over in Brisbane Airport because of storms. I hope the locals in Brisbane don't have too much of a hard time with the floods.

I'm in Indooroopilly- we are supposed to be flooded tomorrow, but hopefully we are high enough to avoid major damage. But who knows, I'm from Toowoomba and never would have imagined the scenes there yesterday.

I was sent home from work today at South Bank, and won't be going in tomorrow. My g/f was evacuated from the Premiers Department in the CBD today, and they aren't working tomorrow. Our friend said that UQ staff weren't going in tomorrow by the way.

I'm staying here until it isn't safe. That's the best plan, avoid going out in floodwater. But it's going to be horrible. And I'm worried for everyone. It's surreal!

It's pretty amazing to watch how fast this creek in Toowoomba overflows.
