Babies.
I have a very heavy-on-the-black (6/7 needles) tattoo on my ankle/calf. It took hours and I dozed off during it. |

It's more annoying than nasty. I had one about the size of a pencil eraser last time. Just the one. It took foreeever for it to heal. Even now where it was the skin is a tiche more shiny, but the ink kept and noone outside myself would ever notice...and...and now you guys. shit. DON'T LOOK AT ME!

Some locations are definitely less enjoyable than others. Most of mine didn't really hurt at all, but this last one on my side was a bitch at moments.
Black ink only is not nearly as bad as having multiple colors, something I noticed with my KATG tattoo. My other 9 are black only, this was the first in color. I get some sick pleasure out of getting them though. I love my ink. Each tattoo reminds me of a time in my life and the city/country in which I got it. It's only a matter of time before I get another one! We're going to be one inked-up generation of grandmas and grandpas one of these days!

although it looks simple, tattooing pixel patterns is nearly as difficult as complicated linework or geometric forms. If the pixel grid or the squares are deformed even a little the result stands out very clearly and it's all you'll be able to see when you look at it. It's really worth it to spend time shopping around for a great tattoo artist in your area/state that will do your idea justice. Cost concerns are negligible for something that'll be on your body for the rest of your life.
