We won the gator lottery.

We won the alligator hunting lottery this year and were able to take up to 6 gators. So last weekend we went out to my dad's camp (a house only accessible by boat in the middle of the swamp) to hunt em down. I decided to take video of all of it with my iPhone and try to make a documentary. It's a little shaky but watchable.

Awesome! Great video, loved the ol' boys with their infinite alligator wisdom, and you got some great shots. Well done! The whole process of catching gators seems so barbaric, but I won't lie; I enjoyed every minute of it (from the safety of my computer chair).

Thanks. There was some footage of the "ol' boys" that I had to leave out. My dad (on the right) was drunk at the time and was spurting out "facts" about alligators.

Skinin em took forever. There is a certain way you have to cut the skin so that you end up with one whole skin to be made into bots, belts, etc

That green flat boat is more stable than it looks. The last gator we caught was rocking the boat, making us all stumble around. I didn't get footage of when his tail came up and slapped the side of the boat and splashed everyone.

We deep fryed it, made Alligator Sauce Piquante with some of it, most of it will be made into sausage, the rest goes in the freezer.

If i gave it to you and didn't tell you what it was you'd think it was chicken.

Was your dad the older guy or the one that looked a little like Jay Leno?

The Jay Leno one talked about being a rookie, was this his first gator hunt? You seemed more experienced than him.

Jay Leno, LOL. He gets mistaken for Simon from American idol too.

It was all of our first times. I used to watch the crocodile hunter. I guess I learned from him.
