What you want to be when you grow up?

During the holidays I was going through some old boxes in my parents attic and I found a folder with a bunch of drawings and art projects from Elementary school. There was one I did when I was 9, "What I want to be." I'm not sure at what age I gave up on my dream but I'm glad my teachers didn't try to stifle me.

LA, if you ever write a book make this the cover. then in the book tell all about how you would have done something that you swear you didn't do.

Good idea for a thread, even if it was just an excuse to show that awesome picture. Ambitions and progress thread? I'm a haver of dreams and doer of nothing, so I'm always coming up with careers upon which I never embark.

1st Choice: Translate Japanese games into English/be a social media and community manager for a games company.

2nd choice: Open boutique cafe/games and books shop/nerd haven.

Progress: Rosetta Stone Japanese, and a job in Japan. Now to scramble around for some dollah to actually get over there and afford to live...

There was a strange period when I was about 8 or 9 when I wanted to be a monk.

Now that I've grown up and thrown childish things like a belief in God aside, I wouldn't mind being a journalist, or something in the media. I had 2 and a half years left in college, so not long before I have to start sorting my life out.

i still entertain the thought of spending a year or two in a monastery. i just think it would be a great experience for learning about one's self.

When I was little (keep in mind it was the 90's) I wanted to be a waitress - so I could be like Rachel from Friends.

How cool was I.

Good call if you do it in Hawaii. It's tradition in Hawaii that the last pickup before Christmas you leave a case of beer for your garbagemen. God bless 'em.

My mom used to play a lot of Miles Davis, so I wanted to be a trumpet player. I took lessons for 3 years but at some point I lost interest.
