Every Genre has a lot of mediocre musicians that ruin it for everybody, but if you listen to it and pay attention you'll notice that there's a zillion different shades to it, each completely different from the other.

It's unfair to generalize on a genre, and a sign of a limited mind.

As for punk... The Stooges were barely punk, they mostly played basic Rock 'N' Roll. The Ramones just did 50/60's rock/pop songs at a higher speed.

The only band i could call punk are the Sex Pistols and they were a big scam (with great songs).

Another example: Tesla are in the same genre as Motlòey Crue according to labvels. Yet i cannot immagine two bandfs that are so completely different.

Metal and punk. Saying (through the apple/orange metaphor) that punk or metal is repetitive and lacks musical talent isnt fair since there's many bands that did that style in an orginal manner that's worth listening.

i'm against generalizatiuons about any type of music.

That was my point from the start. People like what they like, hence this is a fucking useless thread. However 80% of the threads I've started are just as useless so who am I to critize.
