Where should guys get their hair cut?

I tried asking this question too the international brain trust that is Yahoo! answers but didn't really get anything useful, so I figured why not ask here? Might as well try and show you people that I'm trying to improve myself.

For the longest time I would only get my hair cut at a barber, it was a personal policy to only go to places that had that little spinny strippey red white and blue thing at the front beacuse great clips and supercuts and places like that were for women and fags.

Ive started going to great clips for the past few hair cuts and I like it alot. Usually I just ask for shorter and parted to the side. Since the definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over again obviously I need to make more then a few life changes so I might as well start with the easy parts first.

So I go into great clips and get a college-ish aged girl (kind of hard to tell) and just try to ask her "do whatever you think would look good" (not that blunt I don't want it to look like I'm trying to pick her up or something, I just honestly want what a woman would think looks good)

I said something like

"I have no idea what would look good, just do whatver..."

she just kind of persuaded me to describe what I usually get and I ended up showing her a picture on my student ID which is the best picture of me that has ever been taken (I think? I don't know these things)

She did it a little different then I usually get it and I kind of like but I feel like it could be better.

So where do you guys get your hair taken care of?

and women, any ideas on what you like to see with hair?

When I have time I like the barber shop atmosphere. The retired guys sitting around the shop bullshitting. It's fun.

If I need a quick cut Great Clips or Supercuts. I don't think of those as exclusively for ladies as it's not a high end salon.

I would say it's 20/80. 20% of the time I'll go to an old school barber shop.

Great Clips and Supercuts are for women and fags? Not really, afaik they're the fast food of hair cutting, so women and fags probably go to places that charge $50+/cut where they have stylists (I've never been to any place that had stylists).

I go to the fast food of hair cutting, so I'm guessing if your goal is to get women then you should look elsewhere.

Vinny and Pauly went to the hood because those barbers have the illest fades and know how to cut sicilian hair.

You can't say do whatever at a great clips...for 13 dollars they will just do whatever gets you up quicker.

And the definition of insane Is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

I'm in Charlotte and I have tried to reach out to you, but you are not receptive. I think you just may be a tool that really doesn't want help

I go to an old school barber shop owned by a father and son who shit talk about their clientele and make chauvinistic comments about the college girls who walk by the store. And the hair cuts are SIX FUCKING DOLLARS. Many times there's a bit of a wait, but never more than like 20 minutes, and you get to listen in on the conversations. As long as you don't want anything fancy done with your hair it's a fantastic deal. Even if you give them a whole $10 with the tip it's way less than going to the mall or whatever. I love it.

depends on what type of cut you want.

right now i do it on my own cause i like having my head shaved and i am not paying to do that.

when i want a more specific cut i like to go to an old school barber, cause the good ones help you giving you a cut that doesnt make you look like a fuckin retard.
