Woodside, Queens

Anyone live there?

I'm looking at the possibility of moving there or brooklyn. With the fact that I'm a first generation Mick and rent is cheaper in Queens I may have to stick there. So someone please tell me about Woodside!!!

What "area" should I be striving for ( I know in NY that places will say woodside when they're really some bullshit shitty bordering neighborhood...)

Safe and fun (nightlife)is first priority, cost is second

I used to live in Woodside. 58th and Northern. It's a cute, quiet, safe neighborhood with alot of working class immagrant families. Most of my neighbors were roommate situations or Cab Drivers and thier families.

I like where I was as opposed to further up Northern or closer to the 7 train. I was near shopping and 3 blocks from the R to Northern Blvd. Lots of great restaurants that delivered and I was coming home all hours and never felt even slightly unsafe. Alot of laundromats and even one 24 hour one.

It;s a great neighborhood really close to the city without paying the same price or more for apartments that aren't as big in Astoria.

Woodside is nice area. But you WILL near every airplane about to land at the airport - my ex lived at woodside-71st and its on the flight path. But it is close and easy to get to the city from there via 7 train
