The only disappointing thing in the Polanski issue is that he should have been shot dead in 1977. I get that he's a good director (way overrated though) but child abuse is child abuse. The law is the law. Never forgive and never forget.

Yup, the RAWRS story was flippin hilarious!

I see this website has Keith on it's list of 'Famous People with Speech Impediments' with some pretty esteemed company...

THANK YOU Keith for not making a bunch of BS excuses for Polanski. The recent documentary about this case was nauseating how it fawned over him like he was an innocent guy being taken advantage of by money grubbing whores. People who claim the mother was in on it, the girl was already "experienced" etc are missing the point. Thirteen year olds can't give consent! It's rape, period. It doesn't matter that it happened thirty years ago -- he fled the country. He has to face his crime.

Polanski has French citizenship, which is why French authorities wouldn't allow extradition for him. They love their little "fuck yous" to the United States, you know. So US Marshals have been trying to catch him as he travels in other countries. He's gotten away at least six times before.

He's the only one on the list who's speech impediment is not named! I call shenanigans, they just wanted the traffic.

You mean "Wanted and Desired"? God, i HATED that doc. A film student friend of mine showed it to me one night, and he was agreeing all the way.

Apparently movie-nerds and young filmmaking hipsters are ready to forgive an alleged "genius" for any crime he commits.

Apparently if you're an artist, a popstar or a priest you can rape all the children you want, and somehow you'll get away with it.

I don't understand why they are unable to separate his movies from his personal life. You can critique a movie on its artistic merits and still know that the guy who made it is a rapist scumbag. His art doesn't put him above the law.

And yeah, that's the documentary I was talking about. It's all apologetic toward Polanski. Even though he admitted that he fucked her, and the kid testified that he fucked her, the DA and judge were overzealous in prosecuting him so that makes it okay to flee the country and refuse to face sentencing. And also apparently just like with Michael Jackson, his victim's family only wanted money so that also makes Polanski the "real" victim.

Whoopi Goldberg on the View: "It wasn't 'rape-rape.'" Fucking Christ.

That doesnt happen only with Polanski. Most fans put a big alice of their life into the movies, albums or books of those people. So when the man is exposed as a scumbag, they feel the need to "defend" him. So they either become apologetic, in denial or they say forgive and forget.

When Jacko died i was still on Facebook, many people i know were posting sad teary-eyed eulogies to the man. I commented saying that what he did shouldnt be forgotten either. I couldnt count the number of people that answered like "He was such a great artist, he should be forgiven" or "It was never proved" or "He did that because he was a child on the inside".

And there's thousands of similar examples. Pete Townshend from the Who. There's even reviews on the net about "Capturing the Friedmans" that call it a documentary about a family torn apart by a witchhunt. Thre's people who defend NAMBLA. It's a sick world.
