I also had the urge to bake cookies for Erik while listening to everything he went through like all the women who were possibly hitting on him. He has some kind of nicest guy ever, cancer-related, Kilgrave cookie-making power over us women. I am not complaining about it either.

I had to laugh when I started listening to this episode.
I was having a bad bout of insomnia, which happens a lot these days. You see, three months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer myself (mine's ovarian). Seems like ever since that happened, I can't stop running into stories about people with cancer. I thought mine was a gallbladder issue, so I put off going to the doctor for nearly a year - up until I couldn't eat anything without throwing up and I'd lost 40 pounds in two months. I'll say one thing... the cancer diet isn't fun, but it sure is effective (I ended up being 90 pounds lighter by the time I got through surgery). I ended up getting diagnosed in the ER, when I went in because my primary doctor called and told me I had elevated calcium levels. After a CT scan, the ER doc walked in and said "Well, we know what kind of cancer you have." That was the first time the "C" word had been mentioned. I'm 36... it wasn't something I expected. Plus we were a month out from my mom having a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer last August. It took me a while to stop crying after that. But then things moved pretty quickly... doctor visits, painful biopsies, major surgery... I'm now going on my fifth week after surgery to remove a tumor the size of a bowling ball and a tumor the size of a grapefruit, as well as all my reproductive organs. Now I'm waiting to start chemo - a similar course that Erik is going through, only mine will be every three weeks. Sorry for the wall of text... I just found it funny that on a night when my cancer symptoms wouldn't let me sleep, I happened to start an episode... about cancer. It sucks, and don't let anyone tell you anything different. (Oh... and thus far, I'm the one "yes" in the poll.) |

I thought it was common knowledge that you're expected to paint the walls white when you move out of anywhere (regardless of whether they said, yes you can paint). We have a chalkboard wall in our house. When we eventually leave, I know we'll either paint it white or get docked $40 for it.
The guest reminded me of Jeff Goldblum. I voted yes but I've never had chemo (thankfully). |
