Keith I think you are just looking at the drug thing from your own personal perspective.

I have not raised my now 20 and 18 year old's in a "traditional" way. We talked openly and honestly about sex, drugs, and just real life shit. When Alicia wanted to try weed at 17, she asked me about it. She knew I smoked occasionally and I wouldn't have wanted her to do it with anyone else.

Be real with your kids, otherwise you end up with fake, unhappy and sometimes non-existent relationships with them as adults.

I sat there in amazement that 11 adults were willing to break the law. It's a slippery slope though, we'll probably be injecting her with heroin come Thanksgiving.

Almost exactly the same for me and my kids - I don't want my six year old injecting heroin with a stranger.
