Oh, and Eve: this episode just missed it this year, but put National Novel Writing Month on your calendar for next October. NaNoWriMo is November, but you'll need October to sign up and do any prep work you might want to do. Some people go into November with a detailed plan, some people start November 1st with no planning at all and just start writing.
I did it for the first time this year, and I failed. Spectacularly. I wrote only about 12,000 words out of the target of 50,000. But I really enjoyed doing it, it was a real inertia breaker, and I was able to meet fellow would-be writers in my own region for encouragement and brainstorming. |
