its not like it was a secret that it was about ohio. i may be an absolutely TERRIBLE comedian, but at least i followed the normal routine pattern of establishing the topic in the first few sentences. when i said "i experience prejudice because I am from Ohio" what did you think it was going to be about....?

and what you provided wasnt "feedback" it was bashing. if you want to be useful, maybe some suggestions would be good.

keith and chemda: that sound was me chewing gum. i forgot about that. second, good call on the fact that it was patterned off spooky. you are right, it was. but you played spooky's whole bit, but not mine....maybe because this contest was rigged from the begining......

oh yeah, and why did you play other ones that were six minutes or more on this show when you wouldnt play mine. they were terrible too. i think it is discrimination.

Exactly. I'll tell you what is exploitation...The fact that I listen to an hour show every day of the week, and I don't donate nearly the amount of money I would to pay for that amount of entertainment anywhere else. If someone is being exploited here, it isn't the fans.

Not that I wish to bitch on about this, but I work to full time jobs, one at Apple and for myself, now I can mange them both and there is only one of me, I able to throw in 4 hour meetings with my customers each week, plus evening on site meeting with other people, plus visit my parents twice a week for three hours, and work Monday to Sunday. Im sorry but not having a job and asking for cash is not fair, go get a temp job in cafe or something, if KATG flops, heaven forbid cause I love this show, they are both fucked. They should always have plan B in the background still running, which is what Apple is for me, Plan B, if I dont have any work on, I work harder at Apple and get some extra income.
Sorry but those of us self-employeed will properly have a gripe on this.

Are you kidding me? Are you equating Keith trying to sell advertisement and shout-outs on a *successful* podcast to someone with no job asking for cash? I guess you don't consider the hour a day KATG do to be work eh? Just something they do for their own fun, huh?

you know what paul, i didnt really know how to think about this whole pay for myspace thing....but you really made a good argument and i have to agree. i would have to say, most of the people in the entertainment industry got to where they are because they either worked their asses off (aka Seinfeld and Leno), were very smart (Natalie Portman and Brooke Shield) or were incredibly good looking (Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba).

now im not passing any judgments here, but i think you should probably be working your asses off. that means keith doing as much standup as he can, chemda doing any singing gigs she can and working some sort of part-time shit job to keep some money flowing.

im sorry, but when i hear you guys repeatedly referring to drinking and playing poker until 4AM and then sleeping until dinner time I have a hard time giving you money that I wake up at 7AM, work till 6PM for.

i would pay for the show if you chose that route, because that makes sense: paying for a product. however, right now you are framing it as me busting my ass to make money so that you can sleep and drink all the time.

maybe you should take a minute and listen to some of your old shows. back when you first started thinking about people donating money you said flat out: "we aren't doing shoutouts for money. that would make the show lame and it would be selling out." then later you qualified that with "well, we will only do shoutouts for people that are especially generous, and only then for a limited time."

you seem to have lost every last bit of that trepidation as you are going against everything you claimed to be for in the first place. you know what though, every time you do that you cheapen your show. also keep in mind, this approach of selling shoutouts and myspace slots isnt really a viable income source. i mean, how many months do you think you can do this before people stop donating? i bet not more than 4.

Keith and Chemda both still have clown jobs , correct? So they do clown jobs, and then they do an hour a day on the podcast, in front of the mic. Keith has said it takes another hour of random editing or whatever he does, uploading and crap. I think he said it ends up being 2.5-3 hours of his time per show. I think they are already working their asses off.

Then DON'T. Fuck you, have a nice day. You can even still listen to the show. No reason to bitch, because no one is MAKING you pay. What are you out? The three seconds of time it took that you had to hear Keith ask for money, and in return you got an hour of entertainment.
