I dont see him every day and i do not live with him. Chemda does. And in my personal case the only person who could tell if i was an alcoholic or not was the one who had to deal with me every day and see my health deteriorate.

I'm a supporter of what Keith does, a fan and a loyal listener. But Chemda has lived with him for years, spent time with him and cares about his health more than anyone on this board. So if she says he is, i trust her. I'm not judging, i'm just saying that her opinion on the matter has more weight than any theorical test, medical definition or personal tale from the internet.

Great show. 10 years sober now and atheist. It's a tough road, and only you can decide. Chemda, I also qualify for another program, al-anon. I fucking hate it, but it saved my life. Worth a try. Or two. Or if you're like me, many tries. Love you guys regardless of how this shakes out.

Which brings up another question - is his health deteriorating? Or is he just staying up too late and being an idiot?

She said on the show that his health is getting worse. I really do not see why she should lie.

I love people who want to define what does or does not make someone an alcoholic, it can be all different. Also saying it's not negatively effecting his life or job isn't fair in this. Keith does a radio show from home for an audience who encourages him to drink and thinks it's great if he does. If they did a show at 11am and Keith was already drinking the majority of the feedback from listeners would be positive, so that doesn't work in this special situation.

You are all full of shit.

The amount of alcohol you consume does not, despite what your jesus based/your going to hell because your a shitty weak person/judgemental rehab counselors tell you does not define the alcoholic. This kind of behavior enables another kind of addiction, being addicted to not drinking or doing drugs, stop playing savior or know it alls. And you weak bums who have been to rehab and sober etc... you should no better than to come on here or any other place and spout your bullshit.

If you freaks really honestly care about Keith and this issue, stop telling your story and giving your uneducated opinions, as recovering freaks you know you are powerless over it, stop trying to control yourself vicariously through Keith Malley.

If you are a true alcoholic, with a disease, (not a person who just cant control yourself and needs the attention) you know that 1 drink is too many and 100 isnt enough to fuel the monster and fill the empty hole inside you. Quite frankly, I dont see Keith as this empty inside/fill the hole type of person, maybe he just isnt that deep. As Patrice said once, "my choice will only be as good as my options" Keith has time and money and a forum that feeds into drinking as an activity, if you cant see that, it is your issue not his.

The only person who can diagnose an alcoholic is the alcoholic. Stop being so self rightious you retarded judgemental morons. Oh, wait, I forgot where I was: start the moral indictment and bashing of me and my charachter (again).

SO, in solidarity and brotherhood, I'll join Keith and write down all the alcohol I consume in the month.
the quote from Charles Bukowski goes like this: "if you recognize you are losing your soul, you still have one left to lose". He would know.

I will neither confirm or deny my alcoholism, but I will play drink tracker with you as well.

4 Miller Light, 12oz bottles. (after work).

Someone needs to come up with a points system that if you do your drinking at inappropriate times you get penalized. Person with the least points at the end of the month wins my bag of wooden bar tokens.
