I didn't realize until this show that it might just be a "Black boy talk" situation. I feel like every Black dude of a certain age was given the Len Bias talk.

I had a few people around me who loved coke. And I saw how incredibly annoying they were when they did it. People on coke are fucking annoying, and I thought I didn't want to be like that. I'm annoying enough as it is.

Re: cocaine, there was a Sweet Valley High book that featured a character (Regina Morrow) who tried cocaine once at a party and DIED. The 90s media was intent on making us all think that drugs KILL you.
