i'm a wuss

Ok. So I'm going in for a root canal tomorrow and am absolutely terrified. I've not had good experiences @ dentist's office in the past. I've had my tongue nicked with a drill, I've had the numby stuff wear off..hell I even puked on a dentist during wisdom teeth removal once. Anyway I need some help...I need to put a couple of the funniest KATG episodes on my ipod to distract me...any thoughts?

Hang around Broad Ripple or Butler long enough and I'm sure you can scrape something together. Just don't buy off of the creepy homeless people by the canal.

I got a root canal last week. Beforehand I ate half a pot brownie and I was fine, I think I woulda been fine without it though. The whole process is just a little uncomfortable, not really painful.

I wouldnt take this advice, if your already a nerveous jerveous pot will only worsen the anxiety and fear. I reccoment taking a double dose of Tylenal Cold... I used to when i was younger and my anxiety was getting out of control. Acts more like a relaxant

You can find plenty of dentists who will do procedures like this with you fully knocked out using anesthesia, just like a surgery. If that isn't possible, then at least have them give you nitrous oxide while they are going at it. I make it mandatory. Otherwise I am worn out and they are worn out just from having to start and stop so often. Once I'm all relaxed and out of it I'm good.

They are giving me nitrous. I'm still nervous about tings though.

Ask for Valium. Anytime I've had surgery in my mouth I've had it, takes the edge off.
