Stanford University says "Robots will kill"

Ok all,
I was having a nice sunday afternoon reading the paper when i turned to the tech secion and the headline was "Smarter Than Thou?"

The article is about how we will relate to technology in the future, but not all the forcasts are good. The writer admits "This could be very very good if we get it right and very very bad if we get it wrong."

WHAT THE SHIT. WHy EVEN TRY IF IT CAN GO VERY VERY WRONG!
The whole areticle can be found at
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg....DTL&type=tech

Just thought i should keep everyone informed.

Not a robot,

Almost sounds like the Tripod series, where people get "chipped" for their own benefit.

Maybe they should do a study....then analyze it....then tell us what we already know.....Robots are not to be trusted.

Another interesting point made in the article..
Quote:

"We should view ourselves as a species in transition," said Michael Jin, a 20-year-old sophomore and founding member of the group.......

..... Jin, who says it is possible and desirable to engineer away psychological flaws such as selfishness. "This is a troubling aspect of human nature and something we could actually fix,'' he said.
20 year old sophomores are leading the way on these thing....hence the misunderstanding that selfishness is a Psychological flaw....
It is that "flaw" drives all our economies...and most of our human interactions. If you get rid of that you get rid of humanity itself...
