I had to check the episode again, the first time i was involved by myq's delicious zingers, but nice choice, sir!
I usually dont like Daft Punk, but as always, it fits the episode. A question for you McN: when i make promotional videos for my NPO, or presentations, i usually go for classical music but i would like to use instrumental versions of songs like you do. Is it ok, on the copyright aspect? The stuff i always used is public domain, so i never actually thought about it... |

If somebody took you to court for using their music you'd certainly lose, but it's a big, big world out there. If anybody ever noticed or cared about you grabbing their music, I'd be a monkey's uncle. That's why the notion of "podsafe music" always cracked me up. There's nowhere safer to put a song than in a podcast, because it's so hidden and obscure that nobody would notice it in a million years.
So, if you're putting a song in a national advertisement, you should get permission. Anything smaller and I'm sure nobody will notice. But legally you would be in the wrong. |
