Comedy is weird. You do a show like that for the same reason you do any show:

- stage time
- comradery
- relevance
- to get involved with certain clubs, comics, and audience.

Like any other job, you have to pick and choose how you navigate your career. What is worth your time vs what options you have vs everything else that comes with taking chances.
