All your best movies have 2 endings. Usually you have to go and find the good one. It's the sign of a great movie.

Aie yie yeesh...

I know your mom made this movie, but i have to stay true and shit on it.

To be fair, I think "Cloverfield" and, to a certain extent, "Diary of the Dead," did more to bring back the "homemade cam" trend.

I did see Paranormal Activities, and I would definitely say that it's a lot better then a lot of the big-budget horror movies, if not just because it couldn't rely on special effects or buckets of gore like they do, and had to create an actual story to try and scare them.

Despite the budget, I'd say it's far more of a better attempt at horror then whatever the fuck Saw movie came out this year.

best 'homemade cam' movie was Quarantine. It found a great middle ground because the guy behind the camera was a professional news camera guy, so it wasn't so shaky, and the picture quality stayed good.

I haven't seen Quarantine (is that one the original, or the American remake?), but the shakyness have never bothered me about those movies, never got sick or dizzy or even that much disoriented from it.

Good examples and both failures. It's a cheap trend that only film school nerds love. I cant stand it. I despise "Saw" and its clones but at least they're MOVIES. Trashy movies, of course. But with more dignity that stuff that relies on tricky advertising and debatable word of mouth (same definition that could be applied both for "Blair Witch" AND "Paranormal...". The two look so similar that i wont be surprised if in a couple of years the latter will be seen as trash as the other one)

Watch the original Kyle. Even the girl's hotter.

Great point.

I can't begin to tell you how much 'word of mouth' about this movie came to me. Or to your friend. Or an acquaintance of yours. Or to any person you've ever at work. Or anyone you ever remotely talk to.

The "hype" (which is in quotes because it never ever happened) was before you could even see anything!
