listened to Kevin Smith's podcast on the subject (though I haven't listened to this episode yet) and it sounds like it was a complete clusterfuck on Southwest's part from the getgo. I realize that is all his point-of-view, so of course they're the assholes, but you know, when he talks about how universally shitty, confusing, and dehumanizing "customer service" is everywhere these days, I just can't argue with that.

southwest is a no fatties airline, kev knows the seats are small so he buys two seats. not the case for that flight. listen to the smodcast, kevin fits so he should sit. towards the end he's wrong. can't fit don't sit.

I had seen a completely different story about Kevin Smith the day before this all happened and saw the pictures attached and said "wow, he really is a fat fuck." Then the next day the Southwest thing happened and I couldn't help but side with Southwest just because I would have said "I don't want to sit next to this fat fuck." But the thing I can't understand is why this is making me irrationally hate Kevin Smith. I like his films. But for some reason I am ready to argue endlessly against his case.

I'm not a fan of Kevin Smith's movies either. His podcast, however, is great. Smodcast (Smith's podcast) is a part of my weekly listening schedule along with KATG.

According to Kevin Smith, there was an even fatter passenger that was allowed to stay on the plane. Also on the second flight that he was on, an even larger passenger that was sharing the same row that he was on. Was taken off of the flight and was told that either she would have to buy another seat or ask Kevin Smith for permission to share the same row on the plane since he had already purchased the third seat in that row.

With that said, Kevin Smith really did not argue his side well. In fact at the end of the podcast he was suggesting that planes should be made with larger people in mind since the majority of Americans are overweight.

Also, there was a cnn report done on this story, where a spokeswoman from Southwest basically said; "Deal with it fatties, Its not our fault your fat."

You know, speaking of taking kids to the Dominican Republic, that's where Rush Limbaugh was coming back from with someone else's viagra a few years ago. Rumor had it that there was some sort of child sex trade going on down there.

Kevin Smith talks too much, I'm on Southwest's side. Mostly for not ditching their bold plane colors after all these years.


It takes guts to have those colors, and I commend them for it.
