1190: A Whole New World

Keith and Chemda have been as open about breaking up as they could be while not violating the book contract. They have been for a while, so I am surprised that many people seem surprised. As a returnee after a listening absence, I have been binge-listening 'old' shows and you can tell the dynamic changed a little, mostly because it's clear they're spending more time apart. And there were a few explicit nudges to the book contract.
Taking sides is dumb as would be blaming them for not talking about it sooner. They handled it very maturely, worthy of authors of a relationship book. Even if they won't be a 'couple' I still think you can clearly sense a lot of love and affection between them. I loved Keith and Chemda as a couple and now I will love them as a team.

Downside: now I have that 'A whole new world' song stuck in my head. Not pretty.

I've been listening for around a year, and I thought they were the best couple ever. I learned never trust my own impressions about anything, so I guess thanks are in order.

Wow, you guys were very cool and mature about this, I know I could never have handled working and living with an X, especially having to keep it secret from everyone. My thank you for your honesty about something that was obviously going to upset the fans and potentially re-open wounds from the breakup, is in the form of a just started monthly donation and I hope it goes some way into making things easier.

I know it was touched upon briefly but if Chemda/Lauren are willing to talk about it I would love to know more details about that situation. It would be interesting to know if she was aware you were broken up and was able to act through her episodes or if she wasn't and if that affected things between you. I had got the impression that maybe things had ended between Chemda and Lauren, mostly because she hasn't been on the show for quite a while, but wow every way you look at that it had to have been weird.

Anyway I'll stop prying now and just thank you again for your honesty and for putting on a awesome show throughout the whole process.

Keith's a big boy, he got through it on his own evidently (I base this assumption on the fact that he's still around - I'm like a detective, see). And obviously Chemda is Destiny's Child levels of strong so she'll be all good. It's in the past for the two people involved, so it ain't no big thing.

I think they should both make porno tapes with new people for KATG TV and we'll vote on which was best. It will be called the Fuck-Off, obviously.

I'm super sad I've been a listener for years, and Keith and Chemda was one of my "ideal couples", meaning that's kind of the relationship I would like to have. Silly me thought "that must be how to make a relationship last, just be very open and honest about everything". Well I guess there's no perfect formula after all then, which is probably a good lesson for me.

A friend who knows nothing about KATG called just as I was listening to the part about them having broken up, and damn, it was tough trying to have a conversation on the phone while at the same time trying to make sense of all this. There's no way I could discuss my feelings about this with non-katg-fans and not look like a weirdo

Anyway, just had to get that out. This doesn't change my opinion of Keith or Chemda or the show. You're awesome, and your show is awesome.

PS: And yes, I will start buying stuff and donating more. I've been leeching way too long. I'm from the land of Pirate Bay and socialist welfare, we're used to getting shit for free... Sorry about that. And I'll be properly dressed up in katg gear this coming 4th of july.
