Ok, here's an interesting question I wouldn't mind an answer to. Do you (Keith and Chemda) think that the contractual obligation to appear together helped you to push through your differences and continue to have a friendly relationship?
I think that perhaps many relationships end badly because people quit so quickly and run in opposite directions. Perhaps if they could have talked through their issues, they could remain somewhat of friends. After all, once you date someone, they must be good enough to at least be friends with. |

I haven't even heard the show yet but I have been told that they read my snatchy comment so I'm here to not defend, but explain.
I was angry at first, and quite frankly, I'm surprised and impressed that I was in the vast minority. My gut reaction was selfish, and douchey. To be fair, I did post a nice message wishing them the best the next day, but it was lost in 115 pages of that show's thread. I have never been anything but honest on these forums so I posted right away what I was thinking when I should've probably waited. After 24 hours, and a talking-to from the BF, I much better understood their position and I was immediately sorry for my initial freak out. Oh wells, we all make mistakes. ![]() Long live KATG.

![]() Where we agree is that I, like you and some, like the idea that everyone owes a duty of respect to everyone else. It's a version of the societal contract of sorts and makes the world a better place. Where we don't see eye to eye is that I take the sentence literally. Everyone owes everyone else a duty of respect. That means people owe us respect but it also means we owe them respect. See, I don't hold the vastly simplistic view that with respect comes honesty. I have the view that part of the respect we owe each other also relates to the right to privacy. The entitled and deluded of the world only see it as a one way thing. They don't see that as much as they think KATG owes them respect, they actually owe KATG the respect that goes with letting other people make the choice of what they share about their personal lives. Bottom line is that if you think that entertainers choosing to keep parts of their private life private, even if they have to lie to you to do so, is analogous to them pissing in your apple juice then you're labouring under quite a comical delusion. Their lie ruins nothing. Them pissing in your apple juice would ruin your apple juice. It's a vastly simplistic and misguided comparison. But funny. ![]() |
