When I was living in France and I'd been there about 6 months I had to babysit these two kids around the ages of 4 and 6. When I was putting them to bed I read them the story of the three little pigs (in French of course). Every time I said the word "pig" they started cracking up - pointing and laughing at me, saying that I said the word "pig" funny - they couldn't believe that an adult couldn't pronounce the word right and it made their day.

By the way - this was after taking about 6 years of French between high school and college and then after spending 6 months in the country. And, if I do say so myself, my accent is pretty damn good.

So good luck with your half-assed proficiency when speaking to children - I hope they humiliate you with laughter and pointing fingers!!

I'm 5'5" and I hit the Dave and Busters lamp all the time. I don't think it has to do with height - I think it has to do with those damn lamps being too low.
