<3 John Murphy's 28 Days Later score@Cage's gun scene in Kick-Ass I wish I could tell you why: when I was a child I used to give a shit about people pissing on Batman movies solely because of Batman and Robin being bad. It's not the entire series fault, but if you did not like it fine. It may not of been your thing. When I was younger I'd be offended. Now I don't care. Why give a shit? Why do people get offended when Keith says that band sucks? He didn't say you suck because you like the band. He doesn't like the band. So what? I don't know anyone who liked Batman and Robin but I bet someone did and may still. As for why Hollywood makes these movies comic and game lately? Running out of ideas is my opinion. Remakes abound and now 3D is back, again. Cinemas may not be making the money they want? I dunno. It would stand to reason money being tight, but in economic down turns don't movies make more? Also with renting, illegal downloads, and now Redbox (PLEASE TELL ME THESE ARE FURTHER UP NORTH AND WEST, THESE ARE BRILLIANT); I wonder how much it effects the cinemas? Why remake half the shit they do? Comic and game films have been around for along time, now they are huge. Why? Couldn't tell you. Maybe it's low risk? Something new could fail and cost them money? Dunno. Nerds taking over? Losing control? Fuck if I know. All I know is videogames are bigger now. Computers are everywhere. Comic movies are huge. Technology is in with phones etc. ALOT of people use the internet. These are nerd traits of the past. Go figure. Then again so were glasses, pocket protectors, weird hair cuts, tight clothing, aaaand social awkwardness..These are still safely around some nerd stereotypes. So all is still normal. People just took their toys away is all. If this means Batman, Inc. will be a TV show I'm in. I wanna see Damien Wayne. *nerdgasm*

Adoption
Regarding adoption, Chemda says that the flight costs more than what is needed to raise the child, why not just send that money to the family? The main problem with this is that in third world countries, there is no safe way to have and spend money. Unless you have enough money to actually get out of the country, you can't spend it. It's not a matter of how much money you have.
America sends enough food to third world countries to feed everyone, but the problems with corruption, distribution, and crime keep all of the citizens from taking advantage of the charity. The same drawbacks would plague a family with enough money to raise their children among a country without. |

If I thought Kick-Ass was a 7/10, which option do I vote for? Or do I just abstain?
Cameron always refers to Terminator as his directorial debut despite the fact he was hired to do Piranha II. |

My school was too poor to have a class like that, hah. Instead, I had to take AP Calculus AB twice, even after getting a 5 the first time, because there was nothing else for me to do, and I didn't want to go a year without doing math before college.

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone!
Just as a note, I voted "Kick-Ass" to kick-ass because I didn't think it was "shitty-ass". More like it was closer to "kick-ass" than the latter. Haven't really been on in a long time but I also wanted to express so much happiness that Keith also liked Casablanca. GREAT movie. |

re: 9/11
It was a gorgeous day..at least it was where I was in DC. I'll share my story - why not The day before, my now husband moved into my apartment. I woke up all blissful, and because he had immediately set up a new stereo system the night before and I couldn't get radio reception, I did not listen to any news that morning. On the bus into work people started screaming. I had no idea why. Of course I figured it out really fucking fast. I worked in Georgetown, and the Pentagon is pretty close by. So it was absolute craziness. To add to it, a colleague had flown in that morning from Pittsburgh to meet with me. His family was freaked out by him being in DC during all of this shit so I spent that morning running around Georgetown trying to find him a rental car to get the fuck out of there. Before leaving the office to find a car, they had mentioned on the news that any planes in the sky over DC would be considered hostile. So, whenever I heard a jet engine I was terrified - ends up they were military planes. I spent a lot of time looking up at the sky - and I think that is why we all remember how beautiful it was. We were staring at that cloudless, blue sky for hours trying to figure out what the fuck was happening. Anyways - I got my friend out of there, and I had him drive me outside of the city as well. At that time we didn't know if there was a dirty bomb on the plane or anything like that. The next day at work, my office - which stayed open all day on 9/11 - reminded us that we needed to bill any time we spent watching TV the day before as vacation time.
