I agree. If you are in a good T-Mobile coverage area, it is the way to go. I went form a Blackberry 8900 to a Samsung Vibrant a few months ago and it totally rocks. I'm getting over 4Mb/s down and 1.5Mb/s up from a wireless phone. That's better then most DSL connections.
![]() The prices are good too. If you've been a customer for 2 or 3 years you can usually bargain for a discounted loyal customer rate. I like their approach to monthly data limits. If you go over the 5GB/month limit, they just throttle you down to EDGE speeds. No overage charges, they just make sure you behave. PS. Chemda, it's not easy to modify a stock iPhone to work on the T-Mobile network. There are instructions, but Keith would be The Hulk before it worked. Also, you can't update the normal way or your iPhone could stop working on T-Mobile. |

Once I get a secure job and my bills squared away I might go for a newer Android phone, still with Sprint. But I read those 4G phones require an extra premium surcharge for internet, which I know I won't need, because there's no way in hell my area is 4G ready (and really, I don't need it). Quote:

4G Mobile Broadband Provider | T-Mobile I go through phones a lot because I work for them so I get a discount. It will be awhile before I change phones though because I love the Vibrant. The only annoying thing about the phone is the no blinking light indicator for texts but that's not a big deal. I <3 Android. I've heard it's not that hard to do. I've never done it but some of my friends have as well as some co-workers. You can usually find people who will do it for less than $50 on craigslist.

When you support Google, you aid the creation of a totalitarian big brother state.

When I knew I wanted to jump into Android, I really wanted the Nexus One but I couldn't get it subsidized on my family plan. I ended up waiting a couple of months and getting the Vibrant on release day. Looking back, I'm glad I ended up with the Vibrant. It's a great phone with a great screen, excellent speed and super light. I missed the new message indicator initially, but I'm over it.
I'm running the Bionix 1.9.1 custom firmware and it makes the Vibrant that much better. My wife's Vibrant is stock and it's plenty good enough for her. Quote:
patients and understanding (the interns ended up plugging the Mac Mini in, right). |
