Obviously by the replies my post has been severely misunderstood by this forum. I have nothing against nudity, I thought that was pretty clear, apparently not. And yet my reading comprehension is being attacked, and people think namecalling is skillful communication? It's not nudity I was railing against, but those who use nudity to get votes in some online contest. I applauded Viola's stance, not because I think nudity is wrong, I'm not a fool or a jackass as was so unskillfully thrown about this thread. Not the best way to evolve a conversation... nor do I use a thesaurus for my thoughts, that's just ridiculous, and more conversational incompetence.
It's not what you show it's why you do that was my point. Just as it's not what you steal but who you steal from. And yet suddenly I'm told I expect women to wear burqas, that's fucking ludicrous. Andy... your post is at least civil, the first civil response in this thread actually... so thank you for that.

No problem. Even if everyone else thinks I'm a jaggoff for it. Those of us from NE Ohio have to stick together.
I do see your point. And might even agree with it. But isn't this whole contest really just exploitation? It's about using your body in whatever way you can to get the most votes. That being said: Bring on the dick pics. |

*sigh*
First, go back and reread my initial response. I didn't say you were specifically calling for the wearing of burqas, because you absolutely weren't, but that your thinking is along the same spectrum that includes burqas at the extreme end, because it absolutely is. This is why your reading comprehension is being attacked. Because it is poor. Okay, you don't find anything wrong with nudity as a concept, but you still object to how some women have employed it. You believe it is "wrong" to use nudity as a means to acquire votes in an online contest. Is this a fair reading of your position? What then constitutes a "right' use of nudity? And where's the midpoint between the two? It's right and proper that cleavage be used to garner votes, but not nipples? Again, what portions of the anatomy are acceptable to photograph in an online contest and which portions are not? You object to the "why" behind these nude photographs. Very well - what underlying "whys" regarding nudity would you not object to? If this use of nudity is wrong, what uses are right? And by what authority to you get to determine the rightness and wrongness of each instance of nudity? |

Thanks, I think I can see how I was misunderstood in this thread, and can understand that it might seem like I am
backhand insulting those who are genuinely partaking in good fun, but that wasn't what I was referring. Quote:
It goes so deeply into every aspect of our culture, from ex-models as newscasters, to sex tapes and politics. We all eat the lie and feed back into this superficial culture every day... nudity can be a wonderfully healthy way to overcome our own self consciousness and fears, but it can also simply be another example of how misguided our society is. |

" Utilization of another person or group for selfish purposes" If there was somebody who madfe anyone psy to post their pics or got a lucre from it, i'd see your point. But everyone, boys and girls, did it on their own choice, knew that they could win or loose on similar terms, yet decided to do it anyway. Because they are confident in their own looks or they just needed the boost of confidence that they deserve. No one in the contest was exploited. And no you're not a jagoff for thinking this, you're mostly misinterpreting the ideas behind the contest and behind exploitation. The Hottest Girl contest is a joyous feast of girls showing their own sexiness, confidence and people appreciating it, boosting it up with competition (which is normal and healthy). There's nothing wrong or exploitative in that. No argument about it. |

You're being judgey. It's not typically a trait of non-jealous people. And implying that these girls have no content is silly goose. You obviously don't know any of us. KATG girls are some of the sweetest people on the planet.
