Holy shit... those songs were crazy. I guess this is what people did to jack off before VHS? "Cows Come Home" seemed like it was just trying to be a vulgar as possible. Half the curse words didn't even make sense. LOL

I hope Sarah Palin's reality show is as good as her comic.

I was cracking up at the songs. Cock IS slang for pussy and "clap" means some good pussy. Today we call it "snapper" "comeback pussy" and of course, "that good". I personally like to call it the "black velvet box".

The songs by themselves are awesome, but it's totally next level with KATG commentary over it.

Language evolves. fwiw though, their other songs are a bit more euphemistic:

Also, I could be totally off on the chronology, but is it possible that big corporations resulted in censorship? If there are a ton of small start-up studio recordings, it's much harder for a vocal minority of housewives to go after all the petty bullshit, so nobody gets fined for "talkin' bout' fucking". If there's one major studio, then it becomes the target for all the fodder and ends up having to do something about it.

Then perhaps it took a couple of decades for sufficient law to be put in place to allow mainstream swearing artists, or for sufficient counterculture to develop to make it a profitable market. And obviously the internet helped to decentralize everything again (so I predict the the 2030 generation will be a bunch of prudes)

I think it's probably similar to podcasting now. Today we have no regulations and we have shows that are just as gross as they can be for the fuck of it, and then we have people who talk normal, and people who self-censor. In twenty years, who knows if podcasts will be sewn up tight like broadcast is now.
