I knew exactly who I voted for because I only voted for the candidates I had time to find out about and skipped the ones who I didn't know anything about.

I think this is better than don't vote cause you don't care who the county clerk is.

Wherever the option is for "I didn't vote", put me down for that.

There should be a list of 10-20 prominent issues that each candidate has to take a definitive stance on. This list should be in each voting booth/absentee ballot. For the most part candidates sound like kids running for class president in high school; they make vague promises and it boils down to saying, "I have what it takes". Also sprinkle in some baby holding and old person hand shaking for good measure.

Of course I didn't know everyone I voted for! Once I get to the mystery judge section, I vote to boot all of them because I feel the need to stick it to the law... Well, unless they have a vaguely exotic name, because I need to prove to myself that I'm not a racist.

The only people I voted for that I didn't research and "know" were the ones running unopposed. I didn't take this (katg) poll literally, I went with the spirit of the questions.

Why would you vote for them even if they were running unopposed? You just said you agree with what they stand for.

You answered incorrectly in the poll, just as you did in the voting booth.

You let down America a few times today...

The only tax that Amish communities do not pay (because they also do not draw from it) is Social Security. Otherwise, they pay property, income, and sales taxes just like everyone else. If an Amish person has a job outside of the community, that person pays social security taxes.

Also, I doubt that Amish communities vote with the machinery that you use in Queens. In the Madison area we use paper ballots and pencils to vote, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Amish do the same.
