I only vote for candidates I actually agree with, not the 'lesser of two evils' or against someone I don't agree with. Because of this, I only voted in 3 out of 10+ races on my ballot yesterday. None of them won, of course.

On the unopposed candidates, there were quite a few in bumfuck Maine, I put in my name. I know I can do a better job then someone who thinks that getting elected to town clerk is important

Voted only for the ones I knew about. Of course I published a voter guide, so I knew most everyone running.

I did vote for some people on purpose where I knew for sure what I was voting for; but when I didn't know, I just chose the Democratic party for the exact reasons that Chemda mentioned on the show - as a party in general, they stand for rights that I support. So even if I don't know them, they are a safer bet than the other guy.

When it comes to voting on the circuit court judges I just skipped right over them and did not vote because I don't want to vote for or against someone I know nothing about. I do the same things with amendments - I only vote on the ones that I know what I'm voting for.

What's cool is that next time Florida will give you the choice to get the ballot mailed to your house a couple of weeks before the election - so this way you can take the time and do the research while you fill in your vote. This is something I will definitely take the time to do. I think this is the best way to get an informed vote from the most people.

However I do have to agree - most of politics is total shit and I think that is the reason we keep seeing this swinging back and forth shift of power from democrats to republicans. The truth is that no one is happy with anyone right now, and as Ben said, the politicians are so polarized to the point of being completely out-of-touch. Everyone is searching for that non-existent middle ground.

One last comment I forgot to mention

Also I just have to say how I think it's total bullshit how the media chases the polls all the way up to the election and also the vote count during the election. I think this can push some sort of phantom bias on people: a poll really isn't an accurate representation of how people will actually vote, but by calling out poll results all the time, it may make some people think those poll leaders are the most popular and therefore the one to vote for. I know this means admitting that dummies are voting - but it's true - they may just vote for whoever the media is saying is the most popular at the time, which I think gives that person an unfair advantage.

Seriously guys...

I would advise against anyone taking two hours out of their lives to sit down with that fucking travesty of a movie "The Human Centipede". It's two hours that you'll never get back and I'm still trying to get the nasty taste of it out of my fucking mouth after watching it against my better judgement.

I'm a nurse. The sickest thing I have seen in my career is an old lady riddled with cancer whose bowels literally fell out of her abdomen through a surgical wound that broke down (because of the cancer). This fucking movie made that look like a picnic by comparison.

Those pricks that made that movie owe me big time.

The key to voting anymore is to be there for the primaries. Unless you're really super moderate and you're from a really moderate district that tends to put up moderates from both parties then you're choice in a general election is pretty stark.

I get really involved in the primaries where you can find a candidate that fits your taste and in some instances will listen. That's where you can make a real difference. In too many districts the general is more about voter turnout than convincing people with a candidates platform.

There's going to be a sequel. With a new villain. Where he makes another one but with 12 people instead of 3.

NOT A JOKE! But still ridiculous.

This is pretty stupid fyi. If instead of voting for lesser of the two evils, you abstain, then you're effectively giving half a vote to the more evil side and half a vote to the less evil side. Thus, your abstaining actually yields a more evil net result.
