Look at the recent floods in Australia - people flooded out today built on land that was under water just 30 years before.

He had planned for a "quickie" in New York along his trip from Washington to Germany, which provided the perfect opportunity to excuse his absence from home. The maid was at the right place, but unfortunately at the wrong time. She was possibly entering the room around the time Strauss-Kahn expected his paid escort. With his adrenaline on overdrive, the maid had no chance in making him realize she wasn't a prostitute.

I was listening to some comedian recently saying poker stories are the new dream stories, like how when someone else tells you their amazing dream no matter how amazing it is it's always boring as shit to listen to them yap about it, and poker stories are the same.

99% of the time I agree with this. The other 1% of the time is when Chemda's telling poker stories. I don't know why or how, but she somehow makes them good listening.

By the way let me mention this ... next time some poker nerd cocksucker of an opponent gives their opinion/advice on what you did wrong when you just won a hand take a half a beat while looking them in the eye and say, "... and that's exactly what I want you to think."

Or better yet don't look them in the eye, just look down and as you count your chips say it in a low voice just loud enough for everyone to hear but as if you were saying it to yourself. Its a bit more complicated than that dude. The 1974 flooding was because of massive cyclone that ripped through the city. After the 1974 floods they built the wivenhoe dam to the north west to protect the city from similiar events. However the January flooding in Queensland this year was a combination of high dam levels, a king tide and storm conditions (thats why the water continued to rise and even after the weather had cleared) that wasn't helped by the fact that the water flowed down from north of the dam which has never happened and no one expected to happen. On top of this Queensland had just come out of one of the worst droughts in its history (a decade long); a couple of years prior they were worried that if the drought continued there would be no water because the dam level were so low.

Take it from someone that had to sit through 5 days of weather reports after that flooding, the cases are different.

Christ, the excuses some people will give rapists no matter what they do are shocking even to this cynic. Locally we had a coach plead no contest to assaulting ELEVEN of his female students over the past several years and you go to the comments section of the article and it's all these guys talking about how all the girls must have come on to him, how they all dress like sluts, etc. Eleven victims is not enough for you assholes to admit that maybe this guy is a predator? How many kids would he have to rape to meet your standard of "bad guy?"

Regarding "word minimums", I've read that women usually speak 10,000 words per day, vs. only 7,000 for men. Roommates past have definitely called me on being overly talky after having spent some days in relative isolation. The life of a freelancer, definitely.
