Regarding the mixed letter stuff, it's true that reading faster makes it easier to read, since reading letter by letter would make the text nonsensical. But the reported phenomenon is generally not true, we can only unscramble words that aren't scrambled that well. The original text basically consists of mostly easy words that then set the context for the rest.

Here is a sentence that you will not be able to read right away, even though first and last letters are in the right order:

Bblaaesl pryleas pnmrrioefg smiirally aeoulltsby dvrseee clbrpmaaoe tteenmrat.

i hate winkers.

also, everytime i do a music review and have to name a place where the band can be checked out, 9 out 10 its a myspace (unless they're famous guys) and it sucks.

get a webpage, guys. cmon. that stuff is ugly and you all look alike. get a bandcamp page, that one's cool. but no myspace!

MySpace actually used to be a great place for bands. It provided a lot of room for the band's art and made it easy for bands to easily deliver streaming music (something you never saw from small bands before MySpace). The established structure of MySpace made band pages look so much better than the shitty HTML pages that they used to have.

But now that MySpace has redesigned itself the band pages are all dogshit and that site can fuck itself until it dies.

yeah, my main issue now is that they all look exactly the same and they become one giant cloud of lookalike pages. they dont stick out, often they're not up to date, they're painful to navigate and the friend section turned from a good place to find similar artists to a bunch of spam.

again, i always try to push bandcamp, when possible.

I had a boss that used to wink. There was talk around the office that he suffered from a lot of health issues. I just pretended it was related to that. He did have a sort of 'winker' personality, but he was a good guy.

Winking is so ambiguous that I have no idea what the right reaction is. I usually ignore it.
