Marty's laugh and general demeanor is so gross and insincere that I honestly doubt half the shit he wrote about even happened. Just based on that hourlong impression of him. Seems like that kind of person.

We'll probably never know for sure, I mean, none of us are detectives here, but if he did actually get fucked in the ass by his girlfriend (if he even has a girlfriend), he probably did it terrified, and only far enough to get the story out of it (Which I estimate is about halfway in). Which is fine, I guess, but he's clearly trying too hard to be something he has no idea how to be.
Sounds like he was just trying to project an image that sells and moves copies, and nothing more, while you guys were trying to have an actual conversation with another human being, shame on you. Worst guest of the year so far for sure, he gave you and your audience nothing, kudos to you guys for keeping that episode interesting.

Anyway, I love Patrice to pieces, but her delight at the story about the Russian woman who imprisoned and pretty much raped this guy kinda rubbed me sideways. Wait, scratch that, she didn't pretty much rape him, she did rape him. Flat out. And I don't know, I can't help but laugh at the story too, it's funny because he's a thieving fucker who bit off more than he could chew, plus it's always nice to see sistas doing it for themselves, but Patrice did more than laugh, she sounded like she was about to have T-shirts made with "It's not rape if he tried to rob your first" on the front.

it's still rape, right? If a female thief broke in and suffered the same fate we wouldn't be laughing about it, right? (and I know it's not exactly the same because of the sociopsychology of male and female sexuality, etc, but still.) Not sure if I picked up on Chemda being a bit hesitant to laugh at this one, but I don't know. She tied the dude up, went to the store to get 12 pounds of viagra, and then came back home and raped him till his balls swole. Not cool. Smack him around a bit, but don't rape a dude. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't rape him just because she hadn't been laid in a while, so why not.

Or maybe that's just Patrice's Justice. You commit a crime, you get raped. No questions asked. I know I'd never jaywalk again.

I understand your point but I picked up on something completely different. I understood Patrice was laughing because she doesn't really buy that story. She eventually said something like "ooh, a woman just happens to have Viagra around". So I don't know if it was so much a double standard over male and female rape, or if she just didn't believe the story.

Okay, maybe that's what it was. I don't know. That'd make more sense, but I'm not sure I was getting that from her at all. Maybe I'll listen back later and see. It really seemed so odd that she was so amused by it.

As someone in that 18-24 demographic, it saddens me to see that it is winning the poll. Not saying its wrong. Just makes me sad.

I waited a couple days and I'm glad they addressed the Marty situation. The thing is, people on the last thread were defending him saying, "It's not easy to go on KATG..." etc. That's not true. It IS easy to go on KATG. They've had every intern on multiple times and they're not awkward. I was fucking scared shitless to go on and K & C made it easy! Because they are professionals. It doesn't really matter if you are used to going onto talk shows, K&C make it easy...and if Marty doesn't have the time to look them up, it's his bad. He's not a bad guy, but he wasn't a good guest. I'm sure he'll get over it.

I'm pretty sure he's a bad guy too Punks.

I didn't even think he was that bad a guest to listen to apart from his Peewee Herman laugh and Cicero quote. Now that Chemda's talked about how he was one of those pain-in-the-ass guests to deal with behind the scenes I can see how she and Keith were justifiably pissed at him but as far as us listeners heard on that episode he was making them laugh and even though he pretended to be a prude at moments he still went ahead and talked all about the stuff he was asked about. Peeps are acting like he totally shut down and refused to talk about the things in his articles and books but that's horseshit.

I can see him being worst guest even though he's nowhere near as horrendously lame as Marina was just because the other guests this year have been so regularly great but 1424 was still a fun episode.

And obviously 1425 was even funner. Patrice is still magically awesome.

This is true. Any of y'all who've met me know how awkward I can be. Yeah I've been awkward on the show, but like a tenth as much as I am in person. They're great at making guests feel comfortable and not judged. Marty's inability to step outside his castle of insecurities was on him. And that thing where he would constantly bring something up and try not to talk about it is a childish attention grab. More than anything else (you know I can't talk about laughs), that shit ruined him for me.

And Erin, you were awesome on the show. You didn't try too hard and didn't clam up (a difficult balance). I hope to hear you on there again when you move out here.

I look back on some of the shit I've said and done in the past and thought 'wow, I was such a fucking idiot'. I'm assuming I think like that too when I look back on now. So, it's a shame but I think Keith is right when he says you're not a grown up til you're 25.

I don't necessarily think that's true for everyone. It's not like some mystical transformation that occurs on your 25th birthday. And I know plenty of people over 25 who are incredibly immature and haven't had a single adult responsibility in their lives.

Yes, I still fall in the 18-24 group.
