I think I have slight PTSD from reading and then waiting for new Wheel of Time books coming out for over half my life now so I tried to avoid getting involved in a new series but now the TV show has me hooked. Midway in the second book at the moment ... SIGH |

Did Mike say casually that he had a 4-and-half-year-long relationship that was sexless?! And they just let that go?! Or has he talked about that before...cos I don't remember that. Although sometimes my brain tunes Mike out because I don't get 80% of his references to comic books and wrestling, etc. He's hilarious when I understand him!

I read the first Harry Potter and saw the first three movies and they bored me more than a Norah Jones album. I think the lack of a first person narrative from a character that was half interesting (Like Ron Weasley) really hurt the story. The fantastical elements weren't sold as being fantastical enough as far as I was concerned. And the Scooby Doo ending of the first one, and how Voldemort was always behind everything made me lose interest. I did give it a shot, at least.

Ok Mike...don't compare Sauron's timeline to Voldemorts...the Lord of the Rings books took place over almost as many years as Harry Potter, they just condensed it to 3 movies. And Harry Potter was 11...it might take him a bit longer to defeat the darkest sorcerer of all time.
I still love the argument of Harry Potter vs WWE. To each their own nerdery. |

I'm a little surprised that the results of the poll are as close as they are. But I think that it has to do with the fact that a lot of "nerds" don't think as themselves as nerds. It's like in every generic high school drama tv show where one of the nerds gets to hang out with the cool kids for an episode and then thinks that he's better than his old friends and says stuff like "I'm not a nerd like you guys" except he is, and always was, even if in his head he didn't think so. A lot of people on these forums are huge nerds, most don't realize it and usually say stuff like "only the people who do nerdier stuff than me are nerds". They are also the same people that probably voted "no" to keith being one, because voting "yes" would've meant that if Keith is one, then they are most likely are nerds too.

Keith definitely got some nerd in him. I guess it just boils down to what you want to associate with the word "nerd". I know that Keith said that nerds don't even like each other and he doesn't even like nerds... I don't know man... I've put way more thought into this than anyone should. LOL
