When Chemda was talking about a little girl whispering that she hates her Mom on Toddlers and Tiaras, it made me think of last show's guest, Sara Schaefer. I had checked out Sara's website after the show and in the video section she has a youtube clip called "Goldseeker Performance". She actually mouths "I'm going to kill you" to her family in front of everyone during a middle school award ceremony. It was caught on tape and I thought it was very entertaining:

There was a minor shit storm down under this week when prima donna toddler in tiara Eden Wood failed to put in an appearance at a shoddily arranged child beauty pagent in Melbourne.
Parents *psychos* reportedly forked out upwards of $400AUD to have their little darlin's "compete" in the Universal Royal Beauty Pageant in Melbourne with the added opportunity of meeting Wood but the pageant queen was a no show after her mother pulled out of the appearance because of furious lobbying by two rival current affairs programs to get an exclusive. Outraged parents whose children were reportedly devastated at not being able to meet their idol sang it from the roof tops that they were ripped off while other parents, not associated with the pageant were outraged that the event was even being staged here in Australia - saying that these pageants are the worst form of child exploitation on the planet. It was all rather ho hum really but mildly amusing to watch semi literature muffin top mothers drag their stunned rabbit children along to this train wreck. On another topic. The American healthcare system is a fucking disaster and is the model by which other countries around the world do their level best to avoid becoming like. The universal healthcare model which offers a robust public health care system which all taxpayers contribute to should be the benchmark to which we all aspire to. It also allows for a transparent oversight of medical practitioners through a regulatory framework that would address the gross incompetence Keith has been subjected to with regards to his ear troubles. America will never have such a healthcare system because their government is FUCKING STUPID and their economy is on a terminal slide into the shitter. Keith's Inner Van Gogh .....ear
We've been listening to Keith talk about how painful and annoying his ear problem is and I must say: gold in disguise.
Keith's rant about medical care, coupled with Mathew's ignorance, was...glorious. I love it when Keith rants, pauses, Chemda almost 'breathes' on the notion of commenting, and as Chemda just stops and sighs - Keith comes back w/ even more steam. Haha. Keith and Chemda and interns - keep up all the great work. i heart this show can't wait for Keith's new material/ CD |

Keith, I'm not getting your logic here.
"She died therefore the doctors shouldn't get paid." Is what your logic got boiled down to. You don't know any of the facts about here time in the hospital. She could of had a chronically fatal disease that took five years to get her. That doesn't mean the doctors failed everyone dies no matter how good theiir doctors are. As for the math of the situation: $9,200,000 for (5 years x 365 days + 1 day [Leap year]) = 1826 Days This gives of roughly $5038 per day of stay. It can cost between $1000-$2000 per day of a hospital stay for a long term non-critical patient and can easily be $10,000 a day for a critical care patient. These costs will vary for each hospital in each region and the cost may come down significantly if there is an insurance company involved because they will bargain the price down or already have pricing agreements in place. So, with all this in mind $9.2 million seems high but the math shows us it is totally possible. 1000 Days at $1000 and 826 Days at $10,000 gives us a total of $9,260,000 The reason hospitals cost so much is that people without insurance often use the ER as a primary care facility and check in under false names like Kevin Miller so they can get a broken toe fixed and run out on the bill. Then people with health insurance get to pick up your tab. Let the Keith screaming begin. Last edited by Curt; 08-02-2011 at 01:54 PM. Reason: Add more numbers cause I love them |

I have a hard time understanding the weird and stupid healthcare system in the US anyways but this story baffles me more than usual:
If your hospitals only treat you when you pay - why do they send her a bill only after 5 years and kept treating her all that time? Aren't they supposed to kick her out to die or make her a charity case officially? So yeah there is something missing in the story and knowing other weird US habits a lawsuit seems likely. (Don't mind me I'll just go cuddle with my overpriced, dangerous for the economy, socialist health insurance card for a while.) |

I wonder how many couples get filmed for Bridezillas, but they eventually show they aren't crazy enough and the camera crews stop following them halfway to the wedding, months later they find out how lucky they are. Or what the screening process is, do they just flat out ask the bride if she's a cunt, or do they have tricky test questions; You want a glass of water, do you A)get it yourself B)ask your fiance to get it C)scoff at the fact that your fiance didn't have water ready for you.
I love the discussion's of these crazy reality shows, (Toddlers & Tiaras, Hoarders, Teen Mom). I'll never watch them myself, but I enjoy a funny KATG blurb about them. Coming soon, Groomzillas, hosted by Ronnie from the Jersey Shore. |
