The Reagan worship is hilarious. He was far more moderate than any of the current crop and would be run out of the party today.

She's been flying under the radar lately; maybe her handlers are letting Perry crash and burn.

At this point they might end up with Herman Cain.

i agree with Chemda. its not an excuse, but i would never disclose my sexual life or moral flaws to my family, because they're Italian and hardcorte catholic people. They are not tolerant towards homosexuality cause thats how things have developed for years in the country.

Homophobia is the norm here. that doesnt make it good but its part of the culture. so its surprising when its not that way.

also: wtf, does the story of keith's dad messing with him when they were on the helicopter bring back some memories. my father did that a lot too. i got terrified of heights when i was a kid in Rome. theres this high balcony on the Saint Peter cathedral where i was already feeling weird and when i told him he answered "what if i pushed you down?". then started to laugh his ass of and fake come at me to push me from the balcny. the more i got scare dthe more he laughed. he did the same whenever i was on heights and pushed me towards it, saying that i was a pussy and finding my scare so hilarious.

or when i was in the car witgh him started druvung very fast and brake harshly so i would jump or get scared.

i wonder if its a catholic thing.

Not a catholic thing sounds like your dads an asshole no offense. I was raised by hippies so i may have a skewed view of the world after all my parents loved me to much.

She is also an excellent comedian. Was lucky enough to see her a couple of times.

no offense taken, he was an asshole, still is although age and illness made him less aggressive.

my catholic point was mostly about his ideas about being real MEN and the fact that he used to be strongly intolerant towards homosexuality, atheism or immoral behaviour (while still being quite a scumabg when he had to).

so to stay on the poll point, i always thought that those specific aspects of his attitude were about religon and tradition. My mother is a much less mean person but she also is strongly against homosexuality and all. not as much as some more hardcore situations in the rural south (where the parents actually kill theit sons or daughters when they come out), but still she thinks being gay is a "disease" or a result of bad uprising and something that shames a family.

i think a lot has to do with living in a country where there has been years and years and years of strong catholic domain in terms of morals and ideas.

I think that at a certain point, you do have to just take the bad with the good as far as parents are concerned. There's no use dwelling on it. However, that desnt mean that you should continue to take shit. The way I see it, I can't change my childhood, but I can change right now. I'm an adult, I don't need a mommy and daddy anymore, but I do need good friends, and if my parents aren't willing to be that for me, they can eat a million dicks.
