The Joyce of Keith's Hilarity?
Anyone else notice that Jesse Joyce as guest is solid, but the greatest thing his presence brings, is a dramatic increase in Keith's funny? I mean, Keith is consistently funny, (it's part of why we love the show) but you can tell there is like this comedy rivalry between them.
As a listener, you can sense that Keith is definetly and deliberately...dominating the laughs in the room. It is usually most evident by Chemda laughing so hard she's gasping for breath.. "Hey Jesse, did you notice that wasn't rehearsed - I made that up on the spot" Haha. As a comedy fan, I'm starting to understand how Keith views stand-up and what he considers true comedy? Anytime 'comedy' is dissected it comes out douche-y, but there is something interesting and really hilarious when you put Keith and Joyce together. |

I'd love to hear Keith's thoughts on this. On this episode, (#1509) He and Chemda actually refer to Joyce a few times. They comment, "You can almost hear how his brain works" and I wonder if that challenges Keith on some subconcious level.
Check out the older shows w/ Joyce. I swear Keith is not only funnier than usual - his rants are longer, more prone to character voices, and just overall...way more funny. Maybe he jumps harder on Jesse because he knows he can take it? Maybe it's Keith's respect for Joyce writing for the late, great Giraldo? Maybe Keith and Joyce are cycling together like some bizarre-comedy-menstrual-thingy? Who the fuck knows. I do know it's comedy gold. |

The awkward Myka flashback made me pretty sad. I always loved her on the show, but I have to say I’m on Keith and Chemda’s side in this instance. It was just one of those uncomfortable moments where a clash was inevitable *sigh*

Agreed. It is touching in a way though, when Chemda politely, (albeit very, VERY sternly) laid down why Myka was way the fuck off. She even gave Myka multiple outs...
Kudos to Chemda for standing up for her business, business partner, and ultimately herself and what was right. It was good to hear Chemda say she is still cool Myka, however, cuz there was never any follow up. Myka moving explains a lot. |

And one of the best things about Jesse is also that he argues harder than anyone else who comes on the show. He's the Cretaceous Bob of KATG guests. |

I have no idea how you're going to talk your way out of this one. Perhaps comment on Keith's interpretation of his inadequacies on some childhood experiences brought on by his father. You could also just change your screen name and start over. |

I do applaud your efforts as a fan to protect Keith, (I've done the same myself) but I assure you he does not need it - at least in this instance. I'm a fan too. What I'm saying is keith goes from great to amazing, when Joyce is on show. I just voted for their 'Keith is Tim's girlfriend' I've listened to a bunch of the 'Joyce' shows. He has an affect on Keith. "Talk my way out of this one..." WTF. Am I being escorted out? Unless your Keith, himself, I don't appreciate your tone, nor the accusation. |

Don't tell me what kind of fan I am, nor, what to write on the forums. CERTAINLY DO NOT TELL ME to change my goddamn name. (I just did last month - I'm not that clever - it would take another 12 months to think of one) meh. Tell me my name sucks. Fine. Tell me you disagree w/ the 'Joyce/Keith-thing. Fine. Hell, maybe even explain WHY I'm wrong: C. Bob did. Ultimately, your not Keith...are you? Jesus, that would suck. |
