There's a small kernel of truth here. The term ghetto is not outright racist but as I think I heard Chemda say, we all know what the connotation is when the word is used. Ghettos are the product of deliberate decisions made by political and economic elites. The people that live in them are the products of a system that has systemic racism built into it as well as economic oppression.

Keith, you dropped your phone in the toilet. The speaker doesn't work anymore because you dropped your phone in the toilet. Its a shame they don't make toilet-proof phones. Its a miracle that only the speaker is broken, and not the entire thing.

Tricks like rice or freezers don't fix electronics in the long term. They just get them working long enough for you to make a backup. That you can restore to your new phone, which you hopefully won't drop in a toilet again.
