I also think that parents can dislike their children. When I was a child I was the youngest of 6 kids and after the abuse I got out and moved 3000 miles away. After a couple of years It I was told that I was a mistake and never wanted. Goooooooo Parenting

I found myself distancing myself from one of my children, it was kind of scary how disconnected I became at one point (because we were told she was going to die and then she was just fine and healthy, but my brain hadn't caught up to that yet). No one will say it, but you do have favorites and do treat each child differently. You try not to, but some are more likable than others.

We are people and the children are (smaller) people. We all have personalities. You won't like all personalities the same amount. Your children have their personalities, you have your personality. Sometimes they mesh perfectly, sometimes (hopefully rarely) they don't mesh at all.

It's impossible to like all people the same amount.
