No. I'm not sure who that would be. Maybe someone else will remember. I'll ask Chemda.

I also really want to hear you and Chemda talk about Palestine/Israel relations sometime on the show (or maybe a whats my name). It is SO hard to find unbiased material to read on it and I'd like to learn more.
TBH, I'm extremely biased since it's my birthplace but I do try to give both sides of the story even though I favor the Israeli story.

As an atheist, I've gotten a lot of criticism for defending Israel since the primary reason for the creation of Israel is based on the Bible.

That's a good question, I'm not sure about that. When I dive into the new code, I'll know more. We'll also have the ability for other cool stuff since the upgraded forums will have new code and more plug-ins available.

I figured there would be bias, but at least some knowledge on the issue, especially first hand. I've always been amazed by the native Israelis I meet and their stories of what a beautiful place it is...yet on the news we just see violence.

I thought the creation of Israel was to make Europeans feel less guilty about the 6 million Jews massacred. Though I guess the location is religous. Though can't you talk about Mecca and other holy places without being religous?

Could be a good topic for WMN, I'll let Chemda know your suggestion!

It's hard to talk about holy sites without covering the religious motivations driving the people to defend the land. The reasons and justifications for many actions are often religious in nature.

Absolutely, in fact most wars/violence has religious roots...so sad. I think Jerusalem is so interesting since all three major monotheistic religions declare it as an important holy place.

That's DR Doug to you. He didn't spend all those years in school to just be called Doug.

Finally finished listening to the show today. Rich said something about how he thought electing a Jewish president would somehow allow for a more tolerant view of Jews in America. I have to disagree with this because of the backlash I have seen with Obama's re-election. The same people who, four years ago, were so proud to have elected the first black president, are now letting their inner bigot shine by calling him the N-word and calling for his lynching. There was a story from FB which made its way to the mainstream media, where a woman posted something about "4 more years of this N-word." (though she actually said it) Of course, she also claimed to not be a racist. My point is that if you are bothered enough by a candidate, you will find something about him to hold against him, regardless of how you might have felt about him before. I could have all the respect for Romney for his role in the Olympics, but I despised him as a rich, smug bastard.

He's also had the most death threats of any president.
