The catholic church has always taken a "hate the sin, love the sinner" aproach to this sort of stuff. As long as you don't have sex before marriage (with anyone!) they don't care. Many people who were gay would join the priesthood in the 50's 60's etc as a way of repressing it.

My school has gay priests.
