You made it funny. I'm sorry. I was compelled to poke the bear. I knew better. Again, I'm sorry.

There has been a push in recent years to get storm shelters installed in these areas of tornado alley. The Govt. via FEMA has made available grants for people, schools and organizations to build storm shelters either above or below ground, however the application process administered by FEMA is so dense and difficult, that applicants have been knocked back for grants.

The govt. and FEMA need to reduce the level of red tape to help these people do the right thing.

Coincidentally reminds me of one of my first thoughts when I discovered KATG way back when, being that it reminded me in many ways of Seinfeld. "Oh cool, a couple of New Yorkers complaining hilariously about nothing."

Clearly the show grew to be about a lot more than that, but there's still that element at its core and it still entertains the piss out of me.

Every place has there issue.

Tornadoes

Hurricanes

Earth Quakes

Blizzards

Pretty much everywhere in the US will have some natural disaster they have to worry about. The issue is not to move but be prepared for your area.

I know this map does not represent population density. But lets move to Michigan or Maine.
