After high school I tried to start a pyramid thing. Created a brochure and everything where I'd manage the money and send checks, and mail the letters for the people. My cut was just $2 to manage it.
You can't even make money that way on it. I sent out 5000 of the damn things and got 1 taker.

You can't even make those things work if you start it.

Poker however is not played against the house, but in a house. The house provides the dealer and the table for a fee...the rake. Plenty of people make a living by winning other players money.

What's the next card?

To try and answer Chemda's question about if she waits too long will the next card change, I believe the answer is 'no' ... The deck used in these games is usually shuffled before the start of each hand ... For instance if you play Blackjack at a random online casino site you will see in the rules that 'the deck is shuffled prior to the start of each hand' (and consists of multiple decks) ... In the FAQ for FullTiltPoker a question about Stud Poker seems to bear this out ... so whether you take 1 second or 100 seconds to decide if you want a card, the next card up will be the same - just like a real pack of cards ...

Not all of us are lazy. But then again, some of us have the luxury of just using

md5($password)

for one way encryption.

Laziness is not bothering to use a salt.

"Not all of us are lazy."

I know, that's why I said 90% are lazy.
But, we all know that 100% of software engineers love to brag about how they are software engineers, that's why we're posting to a KATG show thread about our software engineering s |< 1 | | z.

MD5 has been cracked recently anyway, gotta go with something a little thicker.

Cracked like my nuts...

..Unsalted.

The crack is really only effective with unsalted "clean" md5 hashes.
