I wish I had a time machine so I could change my poll answer. I did the poll before I listened to the show. In case someone was wondering why I voted the way I did, It has nothing to do with me not wanting a cat for my pet (litter box). I reasoned that cats generally don't like dogs, but when Keith said this kitten at the pet store liked Huggsy I changed my mind. The Malley's would have two pets to take care of though.

Chemda, I saw on MSN where the women's pro soccer player married her partner/teammate in Hawaii. So your dream wedding might still be possible.

A cat would be more work than another dog. You'll have to change its litter box and buy separate food for it (more things to lug in your apt). Another dog will have the same needs as Hugsy, walking, shitting, feeding, etc. Also, if you plan on knocking up Cat anytime soon, a cat is a no-no due to toxoplasmosis.

keet needs to know that cat poop is like irresistible tootsie rolls to pups. the high protein content residual i think. litter box needs to be inaccessible.

With the government shut down you need to be careful with what you eat as the FDA is shut down-avoid imported seafood. I have clients who are homeless and limited income, they can't get housing bc they lost their social security card and the social security office is not issuing new cards during the shutdown.

Cats- I have family members who have both cats and dogs and it has worked well. I have 6 cats-lots of cat litter to scoop. You will have to make sure Hugsy doesn't eat the cat shit bc dogs love doing that for some reason, same with the cat food. There are odor neutralizers in the litter usually. You will have to scoop at least once every few days to keep the odor down. Kittens are super cute but they can be pretty spastic. That plus claws can make it a little rough. Cats can and will climb things. Some cats are better about not using their claws on the furniture or the carpet than others. I'm not a fan of declawing bc I feel it is a cruel procedure but it is an option albeit expensive. They can still climb and jump up on things pretty well. Cats can be super affectionate and cuddly once they get past the crazy phase. You will likely get a lot of enjoyment watching Hugsy and the kitten play; if you think you can deal with the above then go for it. Also they have things called soft paws that are basically caps for the claws. I've heard people say they work fine. I imagine mine would just chew them off.

Adding a cute pic of my fat, cuddly cat Bubby bc daaaawwwwwwww

This is a guy that not long ago wanted ZERO pets. He got a dog and he likes that dog. Great. Now he should get a cat??? He should have multiple pets?

You're all out of your minds.
