The google glass thing for police is just the beginning. I think it was from here I heard the cops are going to start having dash mounted license plate readers that, while driving on patrol, will automatically scan every license plate on every car it can see and check it against the police database.

I think these dumbass laws are from a vocal minority. There are a lot people who stay silent on these topics because they don't affect them. If it gets violent maybe that will shock these silent people into being more vocal, but I don't think it has to get to that level.

Violence will not heal the chasm between those who accept and those who don't. It will only create a larger gap between the two groups. What is going to solve the issue are people like Chemda who can go out in public and speak intelligently and with passion to make people realize gay people are not demons that eat babies. I think it is important that the message comes from someone who is a part of a non-conventional lifestyle. That message may need to be filtered through a straight medium to be absorbed by some of the denser among us, but real change will happen when the bigots among us can begin to understand that at the core of all us we are all the same.

Not sure if it was said yet, but states laws aren't allowed to supersede federal laws, which are supposed to be enacted based on the rules outlined by the Constitution. However, where federal regulations or laws don't yet exist, states can abide by their own constitutions. This is why you hear Tea Partiers and other stupid people champion states rights and smaller government. It's not that they want a smaller government, they just want one that answers directly to them.

As for the Kansas thing, these dopey lawmakers are obviously aware of federal law, and the Constitution, prohibiting discrimination. The law isn't being written with the intent to discriminate, it's being written just so they please their constituents by being as anti-gay as the law allows and also so they can show the rest of the country how bigoted they are. But yeah, Kansas and everyone living there is fucking retarded.

Kansas and Idaho didn't like their pure children going to the same schools as the coloreds. They got over it. They'll accept gay marriages too, if not the gays themselves.
