Cleaning debates get intense. I've gotten into some heated arguments with old roommates over what is considered clean. Dirty bathroom mirrors really bugged me, how can you say the washroom is clean when I have to look at all your spit every time I come in.

I'm painting my new place and its taking about 50 times longer than I thought it would, it's absolute hell. Also the whole place is covered in a thick layer of sawdust from when we had to cut up the wood for the new flooring. The whole thing is just depressing... Next time I see that the walls could use a coat of paint, I'll first see if I can just put paintings or furniture over the scuffed areas.

I put "both clean" but that's not completely accurate. I keep things tidy and she does most of the actual cleaning. I'll live in a dirty place but it has to be neat. I'm a place for everything person and she's a every where's a place for something person. She'll leave dirty plates and cups around and doesn't rinse anything and uses the excuse that she's the one who'll wash up anyway. Right! So why don't you want to make it easier for yourself?

I'm not in a relationship and my areas at home aren't clean. Could be one of the reasons but I'd rather overlook some clutter than be a neat freak.
