The black people are talking back! That's all you're saying. That's controversial nowadays all of a sudden...

Their job is to protect and serve the public at large, not just the people being charged. The officers aren't the best and brightest, they're the best of whoever shows up. Their job is to keep the peace in public spaces, apprehend troublemakers and let smarter and more qualified people decide how to proceed. You won't talk yourself out of being arrested once they begin the process, you can only agitate them. The liberal media is spinning these protests just as much as Fox News. "These are peaceful protests except for a few rioting individuals" lol

So what's an appropriate punishment for "talking back?" Obviously having your spinal cord severed is a bit far (although I'm starting to think that you'd disagree with that), so will a simple slamming-of-the-face-to-the-floor suffice?

What happened was a violent protest. Do you think violent protests consist of 10,000 violet people? There was nothing peaceful about it.

Chemda was a real force for good in this ep, but one thing she said showed why she kind of does own the "druggie" label. She said she needs weed to calm down, like it was her medicine. When people start describing their drug use as a need when it really isn't, you look like you're rationalizing heavy use that you would otherwise think isn't the best.
You hear this a lot with Ritalin as well. "I need to take Ritalin so I can focus and finish my projects" (uses someone else's prescription). "My kids have ADHD so I need to give them medicine so they calm down" (kids are normal spazzy kids that have been diagnosed by some bogus script-happy doctor). Weed isn't 100% good for you. It's not a perfect drug. It's something that mostly has effects you like and it helps you out in some ways. When you start saying that you need it to calm down, you are giving it some weird power as a necessary crutch. It makes it sound like an addiction. Like all substances, including food, stick with 'everything in moderation' |
