He didn't agree that it was on both ends until chemda said it. His original hypothesis was" marriage is prostitution cause bitches always be selling their pussy for shit from a man.

I prefer to think the answer he gave AFTER being harangued by an angry host more closely represent his real views.

the logic here escapes me... unprompted, he gave an answer that angered and offended the host. we have no reason to believe that answer didn't represent his real views, especially given that his viewpoint is common, albeit antiquated. it seems more likely that he backed off his original position (if only a little) in an effort to reduce tension/be more agreeable. dont forget that he spent quite a bit of time trying to defend/clarify his original position ("women be like...") and the consistent sentiment was clear: he hardly considers relationships in which the man isn't the breadwinner plausible. on top of that he seems to believe women are lazy gold-diggers who sell their bodies for security. its a pretty shallow take on women and relationships in general.

even if he was simply making the point that all social interactions are inherently transactional, even sex, that's a rather boring and almost meaningless point. being social is by definition transactional (i'll scratch your back if you scratch mine, in one way or another). His myopic take on this fundamental observation reflects his limited view of what people get out of male-female relationships (he thinks it's nothing more than sex and financial support). and what's worse is that he advances this observation alongside a (thinly-veiled?) criticism of women.

You don't believe that because you already posted what you thought were facts supporting his point of view; men want beauty and women want financial security. What a great find from the psychological journal Stuff Magazine. And then you posted a link from that says housewives are hookers from someone you were quick to point out is a feminist.

Why did you bother? Why didn't you just write, "obviously he was joking?"

What a joke, by the way...

Goofy. Let's have fun with that word for a second.

No the joke was in the logic of the statement "the answer he gave AFTER being harangued"

I don't think that's his real opinion. That's why the statement seems illogical.

I don't think he was joking.

zoops, my Bad!

the internet has ruined me. it seems I've come to expect infuriatingly garbage logic more often than wit. screw this campaign season. being confronted with just how dense AND full of hate so many americans are has been incredibly demoralizing. ugh.

anyway, I'm sorry My Sweaty Balls

just saw this. for the record, I didn't read any of MSB's other posts... I'd love to go back and pick them apart, but danny and I are about to hit the road.

this makes sense. YOU were joking. HE wasn't. hence my apology above. I am curious now though, what is YOUR real opinion MSB? given keith's account of your posts it sounds like you agree with the original myopic argument... or have we harangued you sufficiently to render any further responses untrustworthy?
